HOW TO USE
--------------------------------------------------------
Use this folder like you would use any other Windows
folder. In general all you need to do to install these
files is to copy them from where they are into a
subfolder of your Space Empires III folder. For those
of you who aren't sure how to do this, here are some
tips:

1. Double-Left click with the mouse on a subfolder (Like
"Empires") to open it and view its contents.

2. When first looking in a folder you should double-left
click on the "About" file ("About.txt" or "About.doc")
to open it and read it, so you have more information on
the contents of that folder.

3. To open a file so you can view its contents, double-
left click on it. If a window that says "Open With"
comes up then hit "Cancel." This means that you can't
view the file directly, load it in Space Empires III to
view it.

4. In order to copy these files to where they belong,
you need to open the Space Empires III folder so you can
get to its subfolders where you must copy the files to.
To do this select "Run..." from your Start Menu, then
type in "C:\Program Files\Malfador Machinations\Space
Empires III\" (Or whatever directory you installed the
game into) and click "OK".

5. To copy a file, right click on it, and from the menu
that pops up choose "Copy". Then open up the subfolder
of Space Empires III that you want to copy the file
into, go to the "Edit" menu and choose "Paste". Now the
file has been copied in. If you are asked if you want
to replace an old file, say "Yes".

6. If you are unsure what type a file is, right click on
it and choose "Properties". The "Type" and "MS-DOS
Name" properties may help you discover what type of file
it is.

Read the "About.txt" or "About.doc" files in the
individual folders for specific information on how to
use the files. You can use this chart which tells you
which subfolder to copy each type of file into.

File Type: Subfolder:
